The Old Passage Inn; pub/cafe and sometimes exhibition space; Arlingham; ongoing

A fabulously located pub on the inner bank of the great horseshoe bend in the upper estuary. Situated a mile or so from the main village of Arlingham down a no through road. Historically associated with the ferry that crossed from here to Newnham-on-Severn for centuries. In more recent decades it became a celebrated gastro-pub and used to offer accommodation and ‘Severn Bore watching breakfasts’. The pub was used to stage a number of art exhibitions about the Severn and the estuary, some by the Walking the Land art collective. The pub sadly closed, maybe in 2021, but has now reopened more as a cafe and again is to hold exhibitions and live music. Website here. This photo shows its location just behind the sea wall.
